Use Demonic Impact for clear and its 70% brief slow, then cast the next enhanced version to leave an Astaros Eye. Reach level four before Turtle because marks have far less value without Infernal Pursuit.

Phoveus's next Basic Attack charges at the enemy, knocking them back, dealing extra Magic Damage equal to 4% - 6% of the enemy's Max HP (scales with level), and gaining a 8% - 12% Max HP shield. Cooldown: 26s-14s (based on Infernal Pursuit 's level).
Astaros' Gaze: Whenever an enemy hero blinks, dashes, or is displaced within 8 units, reduces the cooldown of Demonic Force by 20% and other skills by 0.5s.
Gameplay guide
Phoveus is an EXP-lane anti-mobility fighter whose cooldowns accelerate whenever nearby heroes dash, blink, or are displaced. His passive basic and active control apply Sinner's Mark, enabling repeatable Infernal Pursuit leaps that deal target-Max-HP damage and recover lost-HP-scaled health.
Use Demonic Impact for clear and its 70% brief slow, then cast the next enhanced version to leave an Astaros Eye. Reach level four before Turtle because marks have far less value without Infernal Pursuit.
Spend an available Demonic Force before dash events begin recharging it, then chain Impact, Pursuit, Dark Wave, Pursuit, and the delayed Eye mark. Favor dash-heavy or displaced targets without following them into turret range.
Enter only with team follow-up because every mobility tool moves Phoveus deeper. Build defensively around the enemy damage profile, zone the jungler or mage, and avoid multi-target landings when lost-HP healing is required.
Ignore a lit pursuit when it leads under a turret or beyond allied reach; the available cast does not make the landing safe.
Spend the enhanced Basic Attack for its shield and knockback, then watch enemy dashes and displacements shorten the passive's next cooldown.
After Demonic Impact connects, aim its next cast where the target will retreat so the delayed Astaros Eye explosion covers that route.

Use the ready passive first so displacement can recharge it; every listed source applies Sinner's Mark for another valid leap.

The Eye's delayed implosion creates a later mark on the same target, allowing another pursuit after the first mark has been consumed.
