Valir's skills apply a stack of Ablaze to enemies hit, dealing them Magic Damage equal to 1 (+0.2% Total Magic Power) % of their Max HP per second for 3s.
At 3 stacks, the fire detonates, dealing Magic Damage equal to 5 (+1% Total Magic Power) % of the target's Max HP and stunning them for 1s (a target can only be stunned by Valir's skills once every 7s).
Gameplay guide
Valir is a mid-lane or damage-roam control mage who repeatedly slows, burns, and pushes enemies away. Three Ablaze stacks detonate for maximum-HP magic damage and a stun, while Vengeance Flame cleanses ordinary debuffs and upgrades his range and zoning for nine seconds.
Maximize Burst Fireball, manually aim around the wave, and use its initial and delayed explosions to apply two Ablaze stacks. Save Searing Torrent when an enemy engager is missing instead of spending Valir's only knockback on routine clear.
Control Turtle entrances from behind the tank and repeatedly hit the nearest safe hero to refresh fireball charges. Use Vengeance Flame after removable control lands or just before a committed damage window, provided the basic skills are available to consume its enhancements.
Peel rather than walking forward for a carry. Stack Ablaze on the front line, knock divers away from allied damage dealers, and place the enhanced firewall across the route enemies must cross.
Save Searing Torrent while a diver is missing rather than using both charges to improve harmless poke.
Hold Vengeance Flame for the control effect that would stop Valir; its cleanse can preserve the spacing needed to continue casting.
Alternate Burst Fireball hits across approaching enemies when possible, building Ashing on multiple threats before they reach the team.
The fireball can apply two Ablaze stacks through its two hits; Torrent supplies the third to trigger the one-second stun while pushing the target away.
Continue fireballs from rangeCleanse, create space and a firewall first, then use the extended fireball range while retreating to a safe casting position.
