Balmond is a jungle fighter who sustains by killing minions, creeps, and heroes, then wears down nearby enemies with Cyclone Sweep. His current sweep repeatedly lowers Physical Defense, while Lethal Counter deals true damage that scales with the target's missing health, making him a reliable finisher and objective secure threat.
Start and prioritize Cyclone Sweep for clear speed, using Bloodthirst kills to stay healthy without unnecessary recalls. Reach level four before contesting a major fight and track enemy movement skills before using Soul Lock. Do not spend Lethal Counter early in a trade; let the target's lost HP increase its true damage.
Enter after allied setup or from an angle that limits kiting. Use Soul Lock to close and slow, remain beside the target with Cyclone Sweep while its Physical Defense falls, and finish with Lethal Counter. Around Turtle, account for its 1000-damage non-hero cap and coordinate the ultimate with Retribution rather than assuming it wins every secure alone.
Stay close enough to front-line the fight without charging alone into a protected back line. Pressure whoever can be reached and use the sweep's defense reduction to help physical-damage allies. Save Lethal Counter for a meaningful execution or Lord secure.
Save Lethal Counter when an objective approaches securing range instead of spending it for damage that does not change the contest.
Clear nearby minions after a trade so Bloodthirst restores HP; this lets Balmond win repeated short exchanges without recalling.
Track the target's movement skill before Soul Lock, because colliding too early stops the dash and leaves Cyclone Sweep easy to escape.
