After casting two different skills, Julian enhances his third skill. Casting the enhanced skill makes all his skills go on a 9-6s Cooldown (decreases with his level).
After casting any skill, his Basic Attacks for the next 2s will deal 100 (+100% Total Physical Attack) (+100% Total Magic Power) Magic Damage and pull the target toward him (deals 85% damage to Creeps). Casting another skill extends the duration.
Julian gains 15% extra Hybrid Lifesteal for 5s each time he hits an enemy hero with his skills (up to 3 stacks).
Gameplay guide
Julian is a jungle assassin-fighter with no conventional ultimate. After casting two different skills, the third skill is enhanced; using it then places every skill on the same cooldown. Each cast also empowers his basic attacks, while hitting heroes with skills grants stacking Hybrid Lifesteal, so both combo order and attack weaving matter.
Clear efficiently and plan around the level-three spike. Aim Chain rather than tapping it, then use the appropriate sequence for the gank or invade. Against durable targets, space casts and weave empowered basic attacks to maintain damage and lifesteal; against a fragile target, use the three skills quickly before they respond.
Secure Turtle and buffs, approach from bushes, and decide the finisher before casting the first skill. Enhanced Scythe is the kill sequence when Chain can hold the target; Enhanced Sword is preferable when the fight is unsafe or a major skill must be dodged; Enhanced Chain can control several enemies at an objective.
Do not enter a grouped team through enemy control without a planned Enhanced Sword exit. Look for a carry from fog or use Enhanced Chain to create space for allies. After an enhanced skill, use empowered attacks only while the position remains safe, then wait for the shared cooldown before re-entering.
Use Enhanced Sword to pass through an incoming high-impact skill when survival matters more than maximizing the damage sequence.
Decide whether the next third skill must provide damage, control, or untargetable movement before casting the first two skills.
After an enhanced skill, use Julian's strengthened Basic Attacks while their range and pull are active instead of immediately retreating with damage unused.
Immobilize with Chain, dash into a useful angle with Sword, then land Enhanced Scythe so its repeated damage stays on the target. Follow with empowered attacks while the shared cooldown runs.
Use control and slow first, then finish with the untargetable Enhanced Sword to chase, avoid retaliation, or leave. Do not delay so long that the enhancement window expires.
Slow, reposition, and place Enhanced Chain where several enemies must remain or retreat. Those still in the area at the end take extra damage and are knocked airborne.
