Thamuz's Basic Attacks have a chance of 10%–60% (scaling with Lava's Rage ) to conjure Lava Energy beneath the target that erupts after a brief delay, dealing 55 (+60% Total Physical Attack) (+8*Hero Level) True Damage . Basic Attacks that don't trigger Lava Energy increase Thamuz's Lava's Rage .
While Thamuz is without his Scythes , he gains 25% Movement Speed. After retrieving his Scythes , his next Basic Attack slows the target by 30% and is guaranteed to trigger Lava Energy.
Gameplay guide
Thamuz is an EXP-lane sustained fighter who repeatedly throws and retrieves his scythes, gaining movement while unarmed and guaranteeing a slowing true-damage basic attack after retrieval. Cauterant Inferno adds Max HP, immediate healing, attack speed, and repeated recovery for a nine-second brawl.
Throw Molten Scythes through the wave or enemy, use the unarmed movement speed to reposition, then retrieve for the guaranteed enhanced basic attack. Trade around this cycle instead of standing in every wave without cooldowns.
Enter objective fights from a side angle, activate Cauterant Inferno before focus arrives, and remain close enough for scythes and basics to heal repeatedly. Chasm Trample instantly recalls travelling scythes and resets their cooldown, enabling another cycle.
Attack the closest useful target and force space rather than chasing a distant carry through control. Track anti-heal and ultimate duration, then disengage before the extra Max HP and sustain window end.
Retrieve the scythes along the route you already want to move so collecting them does not pull Thamuz out of position.
Leave the scythes out briefly when chasing to use the extra Movement Speed, then retrieve them before the next close-range damage window.
Activate the ultimate after enemies commit to fighting in range, so its healing and damage continue through the full contact instead of expiring on approach.

Automatic scythe return

Trample recalls the scythes and resets their cooldown, guaranteeing the enhanced hit before a second throw and sustained ultimate window.
